The
Gibson family has served the greater Seattle area for over 18 years. Through
these years Queen Anne Chiropractic Center has achieved many awards for
service in Seattle and the Queen Anne community. Yet some patients say
that the greatest aspect of this office with a large reputation for excellence,
is the small approach and personal attention each patient receives from
our family practice using a very specific and detailed approach in providing
chiropractic care. Many patients have avoided surgeries under the care
at Queen Anne Chiropractic Center, and have been shown techniques to ensure
a healthy lifestyle beyond their initial complaint.
Our
family of doctors and staff are committed to bringing you gentle, effective
chiropractic care, along with sound healthcare advice, as we strive to
meet your healthcare goals. Now, more than ever, people are seeking a natural
healing process that will find and correct the cause, not just the symptoms.

Shamanic
methods use the elements of breath, plant essences, sound, stones and fire
to facilitate wholeness. Healing occurs at the energetic level of
the body, clearing the “original wound” before it manifests physically.
A treatment
may include clearing and balancing of the chakras, scanning of the energy
field to identify and remove dense energies, the removal of energetic attachments
or intrusions detrimental to health, or the retrieval of essential life
energy lost to traumatic events.
Other
services include Peruvian Despacho Ceremony to bring harmonious outcomes
to important situations, home and land clearing, and consultation,
coaching, and classes in shamanic dreaming for adults and children. Office
visits, distance treatments, and phone consultations available.
Kim
Newall is trained in the shamanic medicine practices of the indigenous
peoples of Peru. She has studied with Michael Harner, Alberto Villoldo,
Cuzco shaman Jose Luis Herrera, and Cherokee medicine woman Mary Blankenship.
She is a graduate of the Wiracocha Institute Healing School and Post Graduate
Studies, and is a certified Dream Teacher Trainer through Robert Moss’s
School for Active Dreaming.

Energy
work is an amazing modality for clearing and moving forward; for healing
on all levels. It is a tailwind for transformation. Clients
seeking to create new direction, healing and/or change are those that are
served best by this work.
Individuals
who have the intention to heal the past, reframe the present and invite
a more beneficial future are wonderful candidates for an Awakening
session. Awakening sessions are similar to, yet
more profound than Reiki -- from my experience. They are powerful,
yet gentle and effective, in clearing energetic imbalances, which accrue
over time within the emotional, mental and physical subtle/auric bodies.
Stagnant or blocked energy inhibits one’s ability to move forward, in addition
to creating illness, dis-ease, or a feeling or knowing that a shift is
what is needed.
As
an Awakening facilitator and Reiki Master Practitioner, it is my honor
to serve to help this life-force energy to clear and flow. I assist
my clients to relax and allow their Higher, Knowing Self to be present
in their physical being. When this happens, a tremendous and often
profound gateway appears. Change and transformation follow our trust in
the universal flow.
Awakening
sessions
are comfortable, healing and safe. They are relaxing, peaceful
and like a warm energy bath. Clients are fully clothed on a massage
table. Sessions range from 60-90 minutes in length.

You
may be wondering if hypnosis is right for you.
Have
you noticed that some people seem to be able to loose weight, exercise
or diet easly?
Perhaps
you don't realize it yet, but your unconscious mind can be guided towards
positive habits easily and naturally. Imagine what it would be like
if you find yourself changing a habit, feeling or behavior quickly and
easily.
Now,
have you ever found yourself in a comfortable and natural hypnotic state,
perhaps when reading a good book, watching a movie, or even driving long
distances in a car? Hypnosis is a natural and wonderful state of
awareness we experience every day.
Evidence-based
research in well-designed clinical studies shows that hypnosis has
been found to be one of the most effective ways to quit smoking, installing
new positive behaviors and feelings, as well as changing many kinds of
unwanted behaviors or feelings.
Are
you beginning to see how hypnosis can create positive changes in your life?
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email, I would be more
than happy to offer a complementary consultation.
I offer
a full spectrum of hypnotherapy services utilizing modern methods and specializing
in:

"Each
baby is a person from the start and
needs
to be known by someone." --
D. W. Winnicott
Mindful
Parenting
I
see clients facing issues related to pregnancy, birth and parenting. Having
a baby can be a stressful time -- evoking powerful and complex feelings.
It is a time that can trigger challenging issues and conflicts, and therapy
can be very helpful in identifying and addressing them.
I work
with you one-on-one to explore your emotions and experiences in a safe
and supportive environment, where difficult and painful subjects can be
faced and worked through. Becoming a parent can sometimes trigger your
old wounds and trauma, complicating the already demanding task of parenting.
As a therapist with extensive training in infant mental health, I work
with you as an individual or couple -- to challenge negative beliefs and
patterns; and come to better know yourself and your innate strengths as
a parent.
What
is Mindful Parenting?
Mindful
parenting refers to incorporating the insights and practice of mindfulness
into every aspect of parenting. Essentially mindfulness means bringing
conscious nonjudging attention to whatever is arising in one’s internal
world and external world. It means being fully aware of what is happening
in each moment without any effort to change the experience. It implies
bringing a fresh or “beginners mind” to one’s moment-to-moment, and cultivating
an attitude of acceptance.
This
orientation is very helpful in mindful parenting as it cultivates a capacity
for calmness in the midst of inner or outer turmoil. Discovering how to
be present in moment-to-moment awareness provides a valuable tool for remaining
centered in the midst of turbulence--which inevitably comes in the wake
of raising children!
Cultivating
mindfulness reduces stress and relaxes habitual tensions. It helps foster
self-reflection, awareness, emotional equanimity, acceptance, and greater
compassion for self and others -- wonderful tools for all members of the
family -- children and parents alike!
Listening
Mothers Groups
I
am also a facilitator for Listening Mothers groups for new mothers and
their babies.
Listening
Mothers is a program run by professionals who are especially trained in
infant social and emotional development. It provides a safe, supportive
place to explore the various feelings and experiences that inevitably arise
with having a new baby. By attending to the emotional needs of babies and
their parents in these first months, you are supported in knowing each
other better and building a lasting foundation for happy, healthy, caring
families.
The
Listening Mothers program draws from attachment theory, neurological studies,
and knowledge about emotional development. This creates a unique program
that helps establish the foundation for a long lasting bond between children
and their parents. The Listening Mothers program supports infants
and their moms to strengthen their relationships.
During
the facilitated discussions, mothers learn how to be better attuned to
themselves and their babies, and how to engage and emotionally stimulate
their baby. Extensive research has shown that this process helps to further
a baby's cognitive, emotional, and social intelligence relationships and
helps to further a baby's cognitive, emotional, and social intelligence.
*****
I
specialize in integrating mindfulness in individual therapy, teaching meditation
and the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course, and presenting workshops
on how to live more mindfully to reduce stress and support long-term health.
I have extensive post-graduate training in Infant mental Health from the
Center for Object Relations and Northwest Family Development Center.
I am an active member of the Community of Mindful Parents.

through especially stressful times such as cancer or other serious illness,
grief, or loss, or struggling with chronic stress, relationships or work
issues. Psychotherapy can lead to insights and profound changes: helping
you create more satisfying relationships with yourself and others, recognizing
and changing patterns that no longer serve you, and finding a more meaningful
and satisfying life.
What
is Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy?
Mindfulness-Based
Psychotherapy refers to psychotherapy informed by the insights of mindfulness.
Essentially mindfulness means bringing conscious nonjudging attention to
whatever is arising in one’s internal world and external world. It
means being fully aware of what is happening in each moment without any
effort to change the experience. It implies bringing a fresh or “beginners
mind” to one’s moment-to-moment and cultivating an attitude of acceptance.
This
orientation is very helpful in psychotherapy as it cultivates a capacity
for calmness in the midst of inner or outer turmoil. Since the nature of
life is impermanent and change inevitable, discovering how to be present
in moment-to-moment awareness provides a valuable tool for remaining centered
in the midst of turbulence. Cultivating mindfulness reduces stress and
relaxes habitual tensions. It helps foster self-reflection, awareness,
emotional equanimity, acceptance, and greater compassion for self and others.
*****
I
specialize in integrating mindfulness in individual therapy, teaching meditation
and the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course, and presenting workshops
on how to live more mindfully to reduce stress and support long-term health.
I have extensive post-graduate training in Infant mental Health from the
Center for Object Relations and Northwest Family Development Center.
I am an active member of the Community of Mindful Parents.

As
a nutritionist and energy medicine practitioner, I work primarily with
clients who desire to let go of old habits and patterns of belief and behavior
around eating, weight and body image. My approach is catered to meet
my clients where they are, and more importantly, to respect the path they
have already walked. Sessions include counseling and energy
work. For clients who are not drawn to receive energy work, I do
offer counseling services solely.
After
working in a traditional nutrition counseling setting for a number of years,
I came to see that “rules” and nutrition plans do not make for lasting
change. In fact, when individuals are not encouraged/taught to listen
to the wisdom of their bodies and intuition, the result can be incredibly
self-defeating, perpetual, and crazy-making.
Many
of my clients express that they are “done” with their current relationship
to food; they know that it no longer serves them, it needs to be different,
but have trouble seeing their way clearly forward. This is where
energy work, as part of the path through a tenuous relationship to food,
is an amazing modality. Energy work is a tailwind for transformation
that, together, we couple with new tools and perspective. There truly
is a shift in consciousness that occurs.
Even
the most dramatic or entrenched pattern of disordered eating can be broken
when a client learns to listen to her body, stay present with herself and
employ curiosity. The philosophy & experience that guides my
practice is that deep and lasting change does occur as clients are supported
to shift beliefs, behavior and taught to trust. Session content may
include mindfulness, attending to physical and emotional hungers, strategies
for healthy food choices, overcoming emotional eating, developing intuition,
etc.
